A Lamplighter’s Song

"Lantern" - Makati, 11 July 2015
“Lantern” – Makati, 11 July 2015

evening twilight

descending:

tiny pinpoints

sparkling,

lighting up

one by

one;

bravely keeping

darkness

at bay

on a

moonless,

storm-riddled

night

like this.

be not

afraid

to step

out;

lift high

your lamps,

light up

those lanterns,

illuminate

the landscape,

and raise

your voice

in song.

for as

long

as we

keep merry,

souls warmed

by light

by love

by song

by verse

then the

dark

can never

prevail.
