“In the Falling Light” – Cebu, 07 April 2017

the setting
sun
sets the
world
all aglow
but i
am blind
to the
fire
to the
warmth.

only the
cold
only the
darkness
gets to
me
and the
weariness
is heavy
in my
bones
in my
heart.

but
i do
not seek
escape
in the
bottles
in the
nostrums
of man
but find
solace
in words
in verses
in song
in story
and i
dive
into my
books
into a
sea
of ink
as night
falls
and the
sun
seeks its
bed.
