“A Softer Light, A Fragrant Light” – Cebu, 07 April 2017

the night
falls
around me
like a
velvet cloak
and the
warmth
of summer
is perfumed
is heady
with spice.

and a
calming haze
settles
on me
as the
candles
are lit
and the
dulcimers
play a
somnolent song
and i
am moved
to sing
to dance
for you
like that
spinner
of a
thousand
and one
tales
whispering
my words
honeyed
fragrant
in the
darkness
we share.
