“The Circle is Broken” – Makati, 01 December 2016

the pattern
is broken:
everything
everywhere
everyone
has changed
and nothing
is the
same.

and the
minstrel’s
song rings
in my
ears
and echoes
through my
head
how nothing
no one
remains in
place;
how there
are no
wrong turns;
how fate
moves us
along.

and the
old wither
and the
new flourish
and we
are born
and we
die –
and the
cycle
seems endless –
until the
pattern
is broken
and things
change
and we
are never
the same.
