Breakneck Speed

“Counterflow” – South Luzon Expressway, 13 July 2016

zipping past
at top
speed
my hair
whipped
by the
wind
like a
dark banner
and i
feel like
screaming.

wishing
that i
could fall
out
could fall
away
could fall
dead
and cold
and silent
and free
of all
this pain
i carry
within.

past hope
past fear
past dread:
there is
nothing
left for
me.
