“Evening Splash” – Makati, 25 May 2016

the rains
have returned
ending
their exile,
and the
cooling winds
blow
into this
dusty unlovely
city.

i run
into the
downpour
like a
child
of six
squealing
screaming
laughing
exulting
in the
falling rain,
letting it
wash away
my fears
my cares
the many
burdens
of the
passing summer;
delighting
in the
chill drizzle
cold breeze
around me,
wrapping itself
like a
gossamer veil
around this
city.
