“What Lies Across the River?” – Bulacan, 27 May 2016

storm
looming on
the horizon,
and i
stare up
fearlessly
at the
gathering clouds;
sky
the hue
of ashes
of pewter.

thunder
rumbles deep,
lightning
flashes bright
like an
unseen being
muttering
to himself
as he
inscribes his
verses
in brilliant
letters
across the
darkened sky.

i read
those ancient
those arcane
verses:
love letter
from the
universe;
and everything
is on
track
and everything
is all
right.
