“Storm Over the River” – Bulacan, 27 May 2016

the coming
storm
holds no
horrors
for one
who opts
to walk
in the
rain.

i gaze
upon the
grey sky
upon the
clouds
gathering above
like a
coven
of shadows
looming
over me
and i
sing praises
of the
lord
of storms
of rain
of tempests
roiling
in the
sky.

but:
even as
i dance
i twirl
i pirouette
like one
gone mad
in the
downpour,
i pray
for the
one
who travels
that he
may stay
safe
despite the
silvery sheets
of rain
threatening
to cover
us all.
