(Title Unknown; part of the art collection at the Makati Shangri-La) – Anna de Leon, 2008

going through
tempests
inside and
out,
a confidence
shattered
and nearly
gone.

and i
walk through
rainy streets
bewildered
by all
the madness
swirling
’round me.

and my
tears
fall with
the rain
and the
pain
leaves my
heart
all aflutter;
my head
is weary,
my steps
so heavy:
leadenly
splashing through
the puddles.

and i
raise my
eyes
to the
skies
and doubt
if any
good
remains in
me.
