“Outside Looking In” – Alabang, 30 April 2016

tell me:

how do
i save
myself
from this
loneliness?

how
do i
stop feeling
like i’m
outside
looking in,
like a
child
at yule
staring into
shop windows
yearning
beseeching
begging
for a
glimpse
for a
taste
of happiness?

how do
i ask
for your
forgiveness
without need
to grovel
to debase
to break
myself
in the
name
of your
pride?

let me
knock you
off your
high horse;
let us
settle the
matter
as equals.
