“Study in Monochrome” – Makati, 04 May 2016

i wish
i could
see
things as
just black
just white
nothing
in between.

i wish
i could
be
as cool
as cold
as calculating
as the
people
around me.

my emotions
are a
burden;
my passions
are my
bane.

but i
think:
i cannot
live
in a
world
with neither
color nor
shadow;
nor will
i live
in a
world
without emotion,
without heart
without soul.

  1. This is beautiful, and I really identify with this. It seems as though you have the gift of seeing more color than most, in this metaphor, and at times it can seem overwhelming when it feels like everyone has a limited spectrum of vision. Don’t let your passions subside and push past the monochrome!

    1. Thank you so much for those kind words. They gave me a bit of a lift; the past three months have been more than a little heartbreaking, so a little kindness from readers like you goes a long way. Have an amazing day!
