“Downstairs” – Cebu, 13 April 2016

come down
from your
ivory tower
and be
human
for once
not the
elfin prince
you seem
to be.

come down
off your
high horse;
i know
you are
not
as cold
as cruel
as callous
as you
appear.

your blood
flows warm,
your heart
beats on
despite
the pale
marble
of your
skin;
even now
there are
twinges
on your
conscience,
doubts
in your
head.

you are
flesh
and fragile
and fallible;
so please:
come down
come away
from your
ivory tower…

i know
you
want to.
