The Semi-permanence of Roses

“Stall Full of Roses” – Las Pinas, 09 April 2016

send me
roses
in early
summer:
fleeting
wilting
fading
tokens of
adoration
mortal in
summer’s heat,
immortal in
the heart.

pick me
blossoms
kissed by
warmth,
delicate
fragile
tender
as the
emotions
i feel,
as the
words unspoken
by lips
hesitant.

and i
can keep
mementoes
pressed in
between
these pages
of gentle
verse
long after
the cold
breezes
blow again
and this
summer
is gone.
