Desesperació

“Reconcile” by Audrey Kawasaki, 2008

treading through
silent darkness,
feeling the
bare bones
of life
too keenly
too sharply;
unable
to see
even the
faintest
spark
shimmer
glimmer
of light.

tongue
held silent,
pen
gone empty;
bowed
cowed
dismally spent
fighting
for love
for life
for art.

reconciled
to this
brokenness
picking up
shards
bits
fragments;
gathering what
remains.

hating
every single
thing,
every iota
imperfect.
