From the Private Collection of the Institute of Corporate Directors (Artist and Date Unknown)

there is
a tempest
a maelstrom
within me:
an unquiet
riot
searing through;
burning
so slowly
like banked
embers
threatening to
burst
into flames.

rage
simmers in
silence
and i
bear semblance
of naïvete
but the
anger
smolders on
and it
begs to
explode,
threatening to
exact
much sought
revenge
recompense
release
once and
for all
upon all.
