Sighsorrow

“La Pieta” – Quezon City, 11 March 2016

weep,
holy mother,
and this
sinful
world of
ours
weeps with
you.

for the
child
you bore
sleeps
bathed in
blood,
blanketed by
wounds
given so
brutally –
suffered so
bravely –
in sacred
silence.

weep
in the
heavy silence
of this
tomb
merely lent
by the
kindness
of others;
but let
hope
kindle and
catch fire
in your
heart.

he died
in true
innocence
that we,
the guilty,
might be
saved –
and he
will rise
again.
