Anything But Summer

“Tussie-Mussie” – Ortigas, 15 March 2016

hiding away
from the
summer:
sheltering a
heart
too badly
battered,
too painfully
bruised;
nursing a
soul,
healing a
spirit
shattered
fragmented
but not
beyond repair.

and i
tend the
blooms
in my
hands,
seeking solace
in the
brightness
vividness
the fragrance
of a
bouquet.

but still
i pine
for cooler
climes
for graying
skies;
not this
sunshine,
not this
heat.
