A Gentle Vindication

“Samovar” – Ortigas, 15 March 2016

cloudy sky,
cup of
tea;
a stillness
around me:
and i
have no
regrets.

words said,
things done;
one transgression
or another –
but that
is all
in the
past…
and sins
are paid
for,
are shorn
for,
are done
for –
but i
have no
regrets.

tears shed,
pain felt,
wounds healing
sealing shut
but the
scars
will stay
and marks
won’t fade –
yet i
have no
regrets.

empty cups,
emptier hearts,
and a
thousand
quiet questions
flitting
fluttering
floating
through
my head…

still i
have no
regrets.
