Malaise

“Sullying a Canvas” – Muntinlupa, 14 February 2016

scribbling

down the

words,

telling a

story

told often

but with

an ending

neither here

nor there,

ever-shifting

scenario:

from schoolkid

confessions

to caffeinated

conversations

to digital

recriminations

that make

no sense

but mean

too much.

writing out

heartache

in my

sickbed,

weary of

this malaise

this tedium

this weakness

that binds

me

within these

four walls;

worn out

from weeping

from mourning

from cursing

fate

and all

its attendant

quibbles.

how i

long

to run

to pack

my bags

to fly

to seek

to hunt

you

and end

this game

of bloody

stalemates

once and

for all.
