“Emotions Discarded” – Makati, 15 February 2016

fallen by

the roadside,

forgotten

by time:

ephemeral token

of love

ignored

kicked to

the curb.

and i

stare

in bewilderment

in befuddlement

in a

rage

growing in

intensity

that someone

was lucky

to be

so adored,

but also

ungrateful

unfeeling

uncaring;

callous to

the sentiments

of an

admirer.

and i

weep

a little

in my

heart,

wishing it

had been

you

handing me

blossoms;

and i

would have

taken

that posy

to heart.

fallen by

the roadside,

forgotten by

time:

i shake

my head

at the

frivolousness

fickleness

heartlessness

of those

around me;

but sigh

and go

on my

way.
