“Hanging on to Sweetness” – Muntinlupa, 03 January 2016

if you

would just

let me

hold your

heart

in my

hands,

i’d keep

it safe;

i’d keep

it sound

and whole.

fool

would i

be

to break

to harm

to tear

it asunder;

mad

would i

be

to mock

to jeer

to sneer

at it

and you.

but you

are aloof

are aloft

are away

on one

adventure

or another…

and i

wonder

if your

heart

prompts you

to wander;

if its

beat

compels you

to fly.

but please:

let me

see

if i

can soothe,

if i

can tame

that restless

heart

and finally

give it –

and you –

a home.
