“Roses as Blank Canvas” – Muntinlupa, 02 January 2016

reading murakami

late at

night,

cup of

tea

close at

hand;

pencils poised

to color

shades of

scarlet,

tints of

pink

into roses

exploding

into bloom.

but:

murakami lies

forgotten,

my mind

just wanders,

my heart

seems so

far away;

and pencils

are pushed

to the

side,

and the

roses

left pristine.

and i

let the

verses

flow

from my

pen,

breaking the

blankness

of the

page

before me,

wishing

to any

god –

goddess –

supreme being

listening

that you

were here

or i

were there

and the

tea

was wine

and the

roses

were real.
