A Better Sense of Beginnings

“The Green Vine” – Muntinlupa, 23 December 2015

everything

has to

start from

somewhere:

from nothing

from something

from just

about

anything.

and i

choose

to rise

from the

darkness

of yesterday;

start over

rehash and

renew

that which

has been

broken,

that which

has been

crushed

‘neath the

weight

of loneliness

of alienation

of sorrow.

to uproot

one’s self,

to transplant

one’s self

from the

desert

of abuse

to the

verdant plain

where one’s

dreams

can live

can thrive

can flourish

unfettered

by the

don’ts

can’ts

shan’ts

of an

increasingly

critical world.

and i

will run

will fly

will soar

away

from all

this madness

weighing me

down…

and i

will grow

will bloom

and bear

fruit

in freedom.
