One Out of Billions

"Old Verses" - Makati, 2004
“Old Verses” – Makati, 2004

billions

upon billions

of people

on this

planet

and i

had to

set my

eyes

on you.

i

find it

funny

how fate

works:

drawing souls

together,

driving hearts

apart

in an

infinite

number of

combinations

threads spinning

weaving

unraveling

stitching lives

into a

fabric

that binds

us all

together.

but i

wonder

if fate

played a

prank

on me –

on us

the way

it traced

our paths

and we

ran

into each

other;

i wonder

if it

was all –

if we

were but

a mistake,

a wrinkle

in the

fabric

of fate.
