“Nothing But a Torched Ruin” – Makati, 27 October 2015

blown up

set aflame

made a

wreck

by the

carelessness

of men;

this fragile

reality

this broken

spirit.

meandering

in an

aimlessness

unwarranted;

set adrift

into a

world

increasingly cold

ruthlessly cruel;

but even

a ruin

like this

has something

left to

give.

life lesson:

even in

frailty

fragility

weakness

we find

a frisson

of strength

to tide

our shattered

selves

over till

we grow

strong enough

swift enough

brave enough

to let

go

and fly

away.
