Quiet Agitation

“In Colour” – Muntinlupa, 02 November 2015

sleep

won’t come

and i

sit alone

pencils

in reach,

lost in

thought

a throwback

to halcyon

times

when i

hadn’t any

cares.

patiently

painstakingly

perseveringly

bringing images

to life

with colour

something

where there

was nothing;

and the

night

drags on

my loneliness

not nipping

as keenly

as it

used to

but

it’s there;

and i

think:

ignore it

and it

will leave.

so i

sit here,

in some

semblance

of peace,

lost

as i

am among

roses

teacups

cats

and things

till slumber

finally beckons

and i

seek

my bed.
