“Unquiet Repose” – Manila South Cemetary, 01 November 2011

towers

rising up

in every

corner

of the

city;

lofty showplaces

bragging rights

of those

compensating

for one

shortcoming

or another.

but see:

look below

at the

graves

of young

of old

of rich

of poor

men and

women

all equal

in death.

no matter

how high

your tower,

no matter

your state

in life,

death

evens up

the score.

no beauty

no brain

no brawn

no coin

can sway

the specter

from his

duty;

all we

can do

in the

end

is go

with grace

with calm

in peace.
