Some Morning Someday

“Flat White” – Makati, 17 October 2015

even now,

i can

see

the way

you’ll look,

the way

you’ll act

at breakfast:

paper unfurled

in your

hands,

morning coffee

in reach.

you’ll put

the news

down

soon as

cinnamon

and vanilla

and the

yeasted

tang of

baking bread

permeates

our shared

space;

ask me

what’s cooking,

brewing,

stewing

in the

kitchen.

and i

will smile

wickedly

as i

feed you

tidbits;

fingertips on

eager lips,

starting the

day

with passion…

just the

way

we like

it.
