Mother, Mother

“In the Grotto” – EDSA Shrine, 21 September 2015

mother,

i’ve lost

my way;

don’t know

where to

go,

don’t know

what to

do

and my

heart

is sore

within.

my steps

falter,

tears keep

falling;

and the

darkness

encroaches so

keenly

that i

fear

for my

life.

and others

don’t understand

or just

refuse

to understand

my loneliness

my solitude

my grief

my pain

and they

openly

mock me

call me

weak

think me

mad

because

i am

not

like them.

mother,

hold my

hand,

keep my

steps

from wobbling,

hold me

close

calm me

down

with love

with wisdom

with hope

that i

may face

the world

with strength.
