I Manía: Blood Price

From the "Gilded Roses" Exhibition - Sylvia Ji, 2011
From the “Gilded Roses” Exhibition – Sylvia Ji, 2011

next time,

i won’t

be so

forgiving;

next time,

hell

will break

loose.

i’m tired

of being

pushed

into corners,

kicked

to the

curb;

mocked

demeaned

belittled

accursed

just for

being me.

the mockery

ends here,

the ridicule

stops here;

this time,

i will

fight you

tooth and

claw,

tear out

your lying

tongue,

and blind

those mocking

eyes.

blood price:

much

will be

exacted

from those

who do

harm

to others

because of

difference

uniqueness

perceived strangeness;

for to

harm

those who

have done

you

no harm

is like

calling a

death sentence

upon yourself.

run

while you –

if you –

can;

you showed

me

no mercy,

i’ll pay

you

in kind.
