Bitter Almonds

“A Taste of Almonds” – BGC, 30 September 2015

small nibbles:

sweetness

rapidly

growing

increasingly

bitter

in my

mouth,

a towering

rage

roiling in

my soul;

tempest

in a

teacup

brimming over.

but my

face

is calm

is bland

is stoic

in the

face

of chaos;

emotions

hidden well

just below

the surface

threatening

to come

surging through.

sip of

tea,

twist of

lemon:

considering a

different use

of the

tea table

as an

implement

of war.

and fine

porcelain

may not

be the

only

thing that

will be

breaking.
