The Heart Knows What It Wants

"To Our Time Together" - Vladimir Kush, 2004
“To Our Time Together” – Vladimir Kush, 2004

to stretch

to reach

to grasp

your hand

over a

distance

too wide

so far

away:

am i

a fool

and my

love

and my

bravery

misplaced?

they say:

stop

and go

look for

another –

steadier

sturdier

staid.

i say:

screw you

and your

mollycoddling;

what do

you

know of

what the

heart desires?

indeed:

what does

a world

caught up

in the

mundane

in the

workaday

in the

grind

know

of love

of passion

of yearning

of wanting

of waiting?

nothing.

so i

cast my

eyes

towards the

horizon,

a prayer

on my

lips

and hope

in my

heart

for your

return.
