Slow Crawl

"Road Jam" - Bicutan, 08 September 2015
“Road Jam” – Bicutan, 08 September 2015

i want

to know

what it’s

like

just once

to roam

unfettered

unhampered

nothing

barring my

way;

i want

to know

how it

feels

to zip

through

the open

roads,

wind blowing

through

my hair,

screaming

at the

very top

of my

lungs

at how

it is

to be

alive.

and i

sit here

dying

by inches

at this

infernal

slow-killing

crawl:

can’t go

left

can’t move

right;

one’s freedom

compromised

time wasted

health ruined

spirit broken

by ennui

by tedium

by this

everlasting

tribulation.

i want

to know

for once –

just once –

what it

feels

to be

free.
