"A Gathering Storm" - Muntinlupa, 21 August 2015
“A Gathering Storm” – Muntinlupa, 21 August 2015

purple twilight:

frogs

singing in

bellowed chorus

just outside

my window;

behind me:

the news

continues

grim and

grave and

worrisome.

and here

the rain

pours

in fits

and stops

and the

wind

whirls about,

a maddened

spiraling dervish;

ophelia

scattering leaves

blossoms

assorted debris

in her / wake.

and the

candles

are lighted

on the

home altar;

heads

bowed in

prayer

voices

rise and

fall

solemn cadence

sonorous call

heartfelt answer.

my mind

my heart

far away

worry niggling

at the

back

of my

head.

for once:

the storm

frightens me;

and i

pray

and i

hope.
