The Library Girl Grows Up

“Old Habits Die Hard” – BGC, 03 August 2015

days

like this

i am

like

the girl

i was:

more given

to books

enjoyed

in the

friendly silence

of a

library;

lost in

the beauty

the solace

of words

congenial

companionable

comforting

after the

nerve-wrecking

stress

mind-numbing

tedium.

and like

the girl

i was,

i shut

myself

from the

world,

happily lost

in this

realm

where authors

are one’s

friends

and one

continues

to learn

to seek

to reach

to grow.
