Weaving Charms in the Dark of Night

“At the Core of a Talisman” – Muntinlupa, 09 August 2015

tonight,

i weave

a spell:

safeguard

for those

setting out

setting forth

upon a

path

few dare

take.

scarlet

for a

shutterbug

off to

unknown shores

beyond

kith and

kin and

safe harbour;

first true

departure

from all

things

dear and

familiar;

but to

open

young eyes

to the

old world

will inspire

growth,

strength,

an artist’s

eye

made keen.

ebony

for the

minstrel

young and

ready;

off to

strike

his own

roads,

his own

ways

of bringing

life

to sound,

to lyric,

to a

tune

winding its

way

through the

world.

ivory

for the

artist:

the one

who weaves

his own

working

in rhyme

in measure

in melody

to show

that all

things

can be

different,

that there

are tales

to be

told

and nothing

stays the

same.

let these

charms

keep them

safe

sound

whole

wherever their

journeys

take them.
