A Quiet Happiness

“Constant Companions” – Muntinlupa, 02 August 2015

the kitchen

smells heavenly:

hint of

lemon,

touch of

vanilla

as a

cake

cools down;

its aroma

a sultry

siren’s song,

come hither

whisper

to those

craving

yearning

aching

for sweetness.

and i

sit here

sipping

lemony water,

flipping through

books

with great

interest:

wondering

how a

tart

loaded with

jewel-like

berries,

fragrant with

almonds

be received

or noodles

in cream

with oysters

plump

tasting of

the sea.

and i

consider

a change

in vocations,

but laugh

softly:

not now,

not at

the moment…

not yet.

i am

happy

where i

am…

for now.
