A Misconstrued Solitude

From "Garras De Ángel" by Moebius and Alejandro Jodorowsky, 1994
From “Garras De Ángel” by Moebius and Alejandro Jodorowsky, 1994

don’t speak

to me

of isolation;

don’t try

to talk

about things

you don’t

you can’t

understand.

you don’t

know

what it’s

like

to be

me:

this constant

teetering

between sanity

and madness;

forever

oscillating

like a

pendulum

between normalcy

and chaos.

don’t talk:

you’ve never

wandered

these streets

alone,

cried your

heart out

till it

broke,

mourned

the loss

of freedom,

of balance,

of self

pressured

as i’ve

been

by a

severely

conformist

world.

don’t even

think

of following

me;

i doubt

if you

have the

gall

to consider

my solitude

my pain

my darkness –

and i

doubt

your chances

of staying

sane,

your chances

of survival.
