“Let Me Play the Blues…” – BGC, July 2015

one day,

i’ll just

walk away

with nothing

but a

notebook,

a pen,

an old

harmonica

on my

person;

turn my

back

on all

this tediousness

this ordinary

half-life

before it

completely

utterly

absolutely

breaks me.

call me

a coward

for fleeing

what you

blind

bottom-feeding

lackeys

consider a

stable existence;

but i

have been

broken

bowed

cowed

humiliated

by the

mundane

mechanical

maddening

world

too many

times –

and there

is only

so much

one can

take

before shattering

irreparably.

and i

will stroll

leisurely

through the

world

seeking the

fragments

i lost;

perhaps someday

i’ll return

but

then again

maybe not.
