i stand

in the

courtyard

of this

old house,

saddened

by loss;

the old

master

has gone

and this

home

has lost

its soul.

summer solace

of my

childhood,

farewell:

goodbye to

halcyon days

carefree afternoons

splashing

at play.

driving away,

returning

to the

city,

memories in

full play;

grieving

for the

child

i was,

for a

childhood

long over.
