as the

bells

peal their

morning song

and the

sun

begins its

ascent,

i raise

my eyes

to the

heavens;

imploring,

beseeching,

demanding;

a most

impatient

sort of

prayer

from one

who waits

with waning

patience.

wanting answers

to questions

that stay

unanswered:

where to,

how to,

for whom,

and when:

why?

impertinent petitioner

on her

knees,

lost in

a whirl

of stresses

of worries

of issues

of queries;

simply wanting

solace,

only wishing

peace.

bells do

peal

their songs

sunshine streams

down

for all;

and yet

i remain

bowed in

prayer

wanting

a response

to petitions

long made,

but not

given.
