“The Harpies and the Self-Violators” – William Blake, date unknown

how dare you

think

that we

are friends?

how dare you

feel

that we

are close?

i want

to wring

your neck,

to shatter

your spine,

to spill

your brains

upon the

dry

dusty

unforgiving

ground.

i want

your life

as payment

for mine:

i want

your blood

splashed upon

the stone –

because

there is no

forgiveness

for what

you’ve said,

you’ve done.

i hate you

to the very

core,

to the very

heart

of my

being!

you laugh,

you mock,

you insult

one who

cannot

seem

to fight

back.

fatal mistake

on your part.

i will

destroy

everything

you have;

i will

ruin

your very

existence.

for:

if you feel

no shame

in stealing

what is

mine,

then

i feel no

shame

in destroying

all of

yours.
