In Dreams We Roam

“Beached Ashore” – Calatagan, Batangas, 2012

in dreams

we are

free

to sail away

to take flight

to seek refuge

in plain sight

in deep shadow

camouflaged

by one

layer

of illusion

or another.

in dreams

we lift

our eyes

to distant horizons

denied to us

for one reason

or another

swim towards

safer shores

seek

open skies

freer air.

in dreams

we are

free

to seek adventures

to take risks

to break new

paths…

we choose

not to

follow;

we dare

to lead

to fight

to roam

to fly

to live.
