The Concept of Flight for Angels with Broken Wings

i wonder

what it’d

be like

to soar

free and easy,

without a care,

no worries,

no sorrows

just lightness,

airiness,

gracefully drifting

floating away.

and i,

earthbound,

shackled,

broken in more

ways than

one,

will stare up

skies above me

bluer than blue,

high and clear;

wondering,

wandering,

waiting…

then i

look at

tattered wings,

tips broken

by time

by circumstance…

and sigh

with yearning

with envy

with hate:

and again

i gaze up

i weep

for things

i can

never

seem

to have.
