Waiting

“The Forlorn Shore” – Calatagan, Batangas, 2010

i stare out

lift my

eyes

towards the

horizon;

watching

waiting

wishing

hoping

for your

safe return.

i stand

and

i pace

these shifting sands

gazing upon

open water

for first

signs

of life

of ships

in full sail;

of a

smile

long-missed,

yearned for.

months slip

into weeks,

weeks trickle

down

to days.;

then hours

and minutes

and seconds…

and we

embrace

once more.
