sanctuary

‘midst the

crush,

the maddening

throng;

human maelstrom

surging

raging

swirling

around me.

my

safe heaven

blessed rest

enfold me

in silence

in solitude

in peace

that

in the

midst

of the

insanity

men call

normal

i can

still

see the

difference.

that gold

cannot

purchase joy;

that lust

is no

substitute

for love;

that deception

will never

hide truth.

that men

return

to

the dust

the dross

the worthless

clay

of a

mortal –

too mortal –

world

and only

the creator

is eternal.
