There Were No Goodbyes

Purple Ixora – Tagaytay, 09 March 2015

i used

to think

goodbyes

were final:

be-alls,

end-alls.

i spoke

too soon;

i spoke

in haste.

i used

to think

absence

was an

elixir –

cure-all,

heal-all –

to forget,

to regret,

to lick

wounds over.

i stand

corrected.

for time –

mischievous

bastard –

and fate –

fey trickster

she is –

pull the

threads,

draw us

in.

hello, hello:

sparks

rekindling –

for better,

for worse:

who knows?

take it

as it

comes;

i stand

with you.
