Seasons Shifting

“Picket Fence” – Tagaytay, 10 March 2015

i feel the

seasons

turning in

my blood,

shifting through

the marrow

in my

bones;

the sharp

tang

of change

(ferrous like

blood;

bracing tartness

like a

fruit

plucked too

early)

on

my lips,

my tongue.

i feel

like screaming

singing

shouting to

heaven:

i live

i breathe

i am!

buds appear,

blossoms open

like so

many

shy schoolgirls

looking up

to smile;

a cleansing

breeze blows

sweeping

away

the tears,

the cares

of winter.
