“Untitled” – Geoff McFetridge, 2015

tell me

how this goes

again:

goodbyes declared –

dramatically,

theatrically,

hysterically,

disconsolately –

childish fancy

torn to bits,

like paper dolls

at the end

of day;

ripped past

recognition

by childish

hands

or unruly

breezes.

tempers lost,

bonds broken;

hopes all dashed,

words unspoken.

two sides,

one coin:

tarred with

the same

brush.

mirror, mirror;

liar, liar –

which will set

this world on

fire?

but time –

bitchy harridan,

dirty bastard time –

plays its

tricks

and pieces

scattered,

thought lost,

pull together.

fate is a

magnet;

faith has its

pull:

tugging broken

shards,

piecing puzzles

unsolved.

because only

fools

believe that

goodbyes are

forever;

only idiots

claim that

separations

are final.

like calls

to like;

kind calls

to kind;

we lose our way,

we lose ourselves

but find it

all again

someday.
