Open Window Flight

“Open Window” – Bonifacio Global City, 29 January 2015

temptation

stands behind

me:

open window –

open just

enough

for a girl,

zaftig, ugly

in the world’s

eyes,

to wriggle

through

into

oblivion.

jump, jump!

the world

screams.

die!  die!

the world

cries.

we don’t

want you;

we don’t

need you.

we are

better off

without you.

and i stand

here;

alone and lost,

numb from

the brickbats

thrown.

even the

sound

of your

voice

leaves me

broken,

blank.

i wish

i could still

think;

i wish

i could still

feel.

but,

as it

stands,

this is

– this

could be –

the end

of me.

fly away,

miss unhappy;

maybe there

will be

joy,

maybe there

will be

love

in the next

life.
